The Controlled Use of Products

Roquebrune Golf adopts a rigorous and respectful approach to the use of plant protection products and fertilizers, as part of its commitment to biodiversity and environmental protection. For several years, our course has followed the guidelines of the Golf for Biodiversity Program, which has enabled us to achieve the Silver label thanks to a responsible management of our natural spaces.

  1. Reduction of Phytosanitary Products

In compliance with the Labbé Law, which came into effect in 2025, Roquebrune Golf limits the use of synthetic plant protection products to strictly necessary areas, such as greens and tees. Since this regulation, the use of these products is completely prohibited on most other areas of the course, like fairways and roughs.

The golf teams prioritize alternative and mechanical methods, such as soil aeration and green sanding, to strengthen playing surfaces and prevent diseases, thus reducing reliance on chemicals (French Golf Federation). We also use authorized organic products, which are less harmful to the environment and user health.

  1. Precise Ecological Management

Each intervention using phytosanitary products is strictly supervised. An annual treatment plan is developed to ensure that only the necessary amounts are applied, always outside sensitive periods for local wildlife. We have implemented rigorous monitoring systems to measure the effectiveness of our practices and to prevent any product drift outside targeted areas.

To complement this approach, we have introduced differentiated space management, meaning certain areas, such as high roughs, are left untreated, allowing nature to evolve freely. This not only helps preserve local biodiversity but also limits the environmental impact of products used on the course.

3. Staff Training and Awareness

Our teams are regularly trained in the best practices for product use and the integration of new ecological solutions. Continuous monitoring of treated areas is maintained, and we ensure that the products used comply with current environmental standards. Additionally, the golf course works closely with environmental experts to improve practices and test new sustainable methods.

4. Commitment to Biodiversity

The controlled use of products at Roquebrune Golf is an integral part of our overall commitment to biodiversity. By promoting sustainable practices, we not only protect local ecosystems but also contribute to the health and well-being of our players and visitors. Reducing chemical inputs improves soil quality, encourages the natural regeneration of plant species, and protects the sensitive animal species present on the course.
